Our vehicle deposit to The Adventurists consisting of a massive £800 (!!!!!) was marked as paid this week; meaning we have officially paid the last “big” cost pre-rally (and hurt our team bank account in the process). However, there have also been rumours of bribes upwards of $20,000 being demanded of Ralliers (again - !!!!) so I’d say it may be a case of being out of the frying pan and into the fire in that respect.
Let’s hope we’ve got some smooth talkers on this team…
On a happier note, Dancy, Emily and Andrea have all been issued their Kazakhstan visa’s! Nick’s will take a couple more days but, because he doesn’t need a Mongolian visa he will in fact be receiving his passport back (complete with two shiny visa’s) earlier than us. The girls Mongolian visa’s may have to be rushed, but so long as they arrive in time for our flight I think we’ll all be happy!
